1. Maple Syrup

Absolutely pure maple syrup from the depths of the Canadian forests is one of Mother Nature’s mouth-watering
delights from the sap of maple trees. When the snow melts in the spring, the maple trees south of Quebec are notched to collect their sap. Then called maple water, it is subsequently boiled to reduce it to our famous syrup.

The Red Indians were the first to discover how to make this legendary product. They gave their know-how to the European pioneers who very much appreciated its unique sugary taste. Its production rapidly developed and was handed down until it came to us. Our maple syrup has become an incredibly well-known product.

As the national emblem of Canada, the maple tree symbolises both the springtime reawakening of nature and the essential decorative element of the Canadian landscape. It also embodies a whole ritual, when the time comes to head for the sugar cabin for the “sugar party” season, festivities where you “sweeten your tooth” with your friends. In addition to its reputation, maple syrup stands for conviviality and pleasure.

 2. Taste

Maple Joe® maple syrup with its ideal warm, amber colour and unique taste, appeals to young and old alike.

Its subtle caramel flavour will be the perfect companion for pancakes, yoghourts, fruit salads and cakes. It also goes well with savoury dishes, poultry and meat such as roast pork. It can also be used to replace sugar in milk or tea.

The intensity of the taste of maple syrup varies according to its colour. A dark colour promises a stronger taste whereas a light coloured syrup will have a more subtle flavour.

 3. Presentation

Maple Joe® as an intrinsic part of Canadian tradition is the epitome of Quebec. The glass bottle, with its pure elegant lines and little handle, is typically used for maple syrup.
